My Story
SHAJID AHMED'S STORY
Since my childhood, I had a passion and curiosity for business, charitable activities, gadgets, computers, and technology. In 2010, I started playing computer games, and in 2014, I opened my first Facebook account, which marked the beginning of my journey. In 2014, I began editing pictures a little bit and offered photo editing services to people. In 2017, I started my first blogging venture, writing on various subjects whenever I had free time. In the same year, I initiated a professional photo editing service.
In 2018, I established the Oxygen Foundation to help the needy, and with school friends, I formed the musical band “Oxygen Band,” which gained popularity as the best school band. Alongside, in 2019, I founded “Oxygen’s Gallery,” an e-commerce service provider organization, which was later acquired by “Layers Bangladesh” in 2023.
With my math teacher I also started the “YouTube Geometry School,” providing education through free videos online. In 2019, I rebranded the photo editing service as “Oxygen’s Photography,” and later, Bornona Media acquired the company. In 2020, during the pandemic with one of my friend, I founded “Mentors School,” the first and largest online classroom in Meherpur district. The same year, I began offering professional video editing services through Bornona Media.
Furthermore, I established “BlightHost” (formerly Seazyhost) to make web hosting services more accessible and founded “Ovinobo IT” as an IT service and digital marketing company. New aspiring entrepreneurs received comprehensive services under one roof through a venture named “Domain Bari,” providing domains, hosting, mobile apps, and Facebook page services. I started customisable T-shirt company Layers Bangladesh as the 30 % share owner.
Later, I acquired a German-based digital marketing company, “Docket Digital,” in 2022. In the same year, Bornona Group acquired Mentors School, Domain Bari, Bornona Media & the full ownership. After that I bought the 70% ownership of Bornona Group. After acquiring the 70% shares of Bornona Group I got the position CEO of Bornona Group. Besides, I try to invest whenever I find opportunities in different ventures.
For my activities I got nominated in International Children Peace Prize Award 2021 & 2022.
What is my actual goal ?
My family and people around me say only one thing about me that my aim is only to earn money.
In their comments, I sometimes ask myself what is my goal?
— However, my real goal is to follow my passion and prioritize it. And I want to make everything easy for people and within their reach. Because at one time I myself could not develop a website by hiring a large developer due to lack of money and faced trusting issue several times in online shopping.
I love to explore new businesses and my passion for it works, in fact I have invested in so many companies in my life that I can’t even remember, my investment goal is just to have fun. I want to be a part of social change. I always say one thing in my videos, ‘If I do something that benefits even one person, that’s my success’.
